Dr. Claire Thornton DMD
Dr. Claire Thornton joined the practice as an associated dentist in December 2021. She graduated with a B.S. in Bible and Psychology from Columbia International University in South Carolina. After graduation, Dr. Claire was drawn back towards the dental profession as the daughter of a dentist and seeing how her parents used it to serve others in mission work in the US and overseas. She attended the University of Georgia for post-baccalaureate studies and received her dental degree from the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in 2012. She completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Tennessee Medical Center from 2012-2013. In her residency training, Dr. Claire received advanced education in general dentistry, including treatment of special needs patients, treatment of emergencies in a dental setting, anesthesia, and forensic dentistry.
Dr. Claire returned to her hometown of Hiawassee, GA in 2013 and started her own dental practice. After marrying her husband, Andy, in 2017, Dr. Claire sold her practice in 2018 to move to North Carolina where Andy was practicing medicine. While in North Carolina, they had a son and daughter, and moved to Kennesaw in late 2021 to be closer to both of their families. Dr. Claire is happy to be part of a dental team that is committed to excellence.
